The show Thirteen Reasons Why has sparked up many interests in people everywhere. People have been very confused on what this new Netflix original is teaching kids. “Beyond the Reasons” is the fourteenth episode about the backstory of the series. The producers talk about the rough scenes such the rape scenes and fight scenes. The producer say that the reasoning behind making this series was to prove that suicide isn’t a pretty thing and that suicide just hurts people and doesn’t help anything. The people on the show also said that you should be more aware of when people may need help.Through the whole making of the show they had therapists and psychiatrists on set to help the cast. They were there to help get through the rape scene and the suicide scene. This was because they wanted to make sure that the cast knew why they were doing these scenes and how people react when they actually go through these things, like what goes on in their minds and how they feel while this is happening and afterwards. The producers said that they didn’t look away from the sexual assaults because they didn’t want to take away from what the characters went through, and what teenage girls go through on a daily basis. All in all, “Thirteen Reasons Why” is a show that shows how traumatized people can be and that we all need to be more aware of what people are going through and begin to see signs before it’s too late. I suggest that if you have seen this series, but have not seen beyond the reasons then you should watch it.
