Do you remember your childhood adventures and all the places you went? Maybe you went to the moon or under the sea. Perhaps jumping across the furniture to keep yourself from touching the carpets that magically turned into lava. Although you weren’t physically traveling, you were still going somewhere special or fearless in your mind. The mind of a child is a miraculous place, where the most pure and innocent thoughts form. Your thoughts, like a storybook, taking you anywhere your wandering heart desires. Just like everything in life we grow and mature physically. Along with our minds, we lose that childhood spark that started the fire of adulthood. We may have lost that imagination and creativity from when we were kids, but that’s okay. We grow in our knowledge because we go to school to prepare our young adult minds for the biggest trip of all. Schools all around the world teach us that we are capable of conquering the world if we set our minds to it. So, when we graduate from our final childhood chapters in life, we are ready to do just that. The rest of our storybook is full of blank pages for us to fill with bold adventures! Starting a new chapter in our lives means we can do whatever we want. Even if that means traveling to the moon, going under the sea, or hopscotching the rising lava nipping at our toes. You are now the author of your book of travels, so go write something great. Valencia Medina-Cabrera
When school gets out of session there are many things that come to an end, but when things end certain things also begin. During school there are opportunities for work does not leave much time to hang out and have fun. Now that school is over people and families are trying to figure out what their summer activities are going to be. Depending on where you live, there are lots of things to do over the summer! Some examples of what you could do would be swimming, traveling, barbecues, camping, eating lots of food, and age appropriate parties.
If you live in a small town and some of these things aren’t available, then you can always make your own fun, such as bonfires and getting “lost” for a week and having fun without interruptions. Hanging out with your friends is always a really good way to have fun and be happy. Whether you’re at your house or swimming, being with friends is the best option, although some people prefer to be alone which isn’t a bad thing. Sometimes you need to take a break and have a day with family or to be by yourself and recover from all the excitement.
Moral of this is there is, always plenty to do during the summer whether you’re making your own fun or having fun with other people. But remember, never get too carried away and don’t do anything illegal.
Humans are a social species. We rely on connections through the senses to survive. Even the most basic social interactions make us feel alive. Statistics from the T.V. show 13 Reasons Why state the subjective feelings the brain sets off, through stimulants, can fluctuate the human life span by 26%. There are different parts of the brain that make you feel a certain way. Stimulants can make you feel good and they can make you feel bad. Our brain controls our emotions, behavioral control, personality, social skills, and generating emotions all comes from the frontal and temporal lobe. People are one of the major stimulants that sets the brain off in many directions all at one time. Someone can make you feel love, power, and butterflies all in a matter of seconds. Then you can turn around and feel useless, small, and empty by the same person in the next moment. There are so many fascinating things in life that sets our brains into stimulation. The body has the brain, which sends signals through nerves to the rest of your body through what we know as our five senses. The brain is an extraordinary place which controls our emotions as an entirety. Our emotions make us feel alive. These emotions form our personalities and form who we are.
Personality crises are every student's nightmare. They have trouble figuring out who they are. This is normal for all students at all high schools. In Roundup High School not only are the underclassmen having these problems, but also the seniors. As they get closer to graduation they slack off school work and priorities, because they are so close to being done with high school. These actions send another kind of stimulant to the brain. This is commonly known as relaxing. Not caring about the stress and all of the work left to do in a little amount of time makes the brain want to just shut down and relax. This is also normal when we get summer break fever. By: Valencia Medina-Cabrera
Millions of people know animal abuse is wrong, and there are millions that are against it, and yes there are still some out there that are still for it. Animal abuse isn't just about fighting the dog, it's more about the animal being left to die, and fend for themselves when they're unable to do anything. In some cases it’s organized and people bet on the dogs “fighting skills”. Organized animal cruelty started about the 1800s with fighting pit bull mainly but there was other breeds. Over time it grew bigger and bigger people started betting on the dogs, to get money. As time went on states started punishing the abusers.
