Sage Hope Dawn Morning and School Routine trouble? Have you ever thought you had a plan but you really didn’t? Do you ever think about developing a school routine but have no clue where to start, so you just wing it? Most of us have been there, except for those who have superhuman planning and/or have parents that are teachers. From dealing with procrastination to remembering to bring your class supplies, what you’re about to read will at least give you an idea on how to create an organized school routine. We’re first going to start with the morning routine, which we’ve interviewed a student about. She requested to be called Princess Sophia. Don’t ask why. Do you have a morning routine? Princess: Yes. I get up at around 6:00 a.m and I take shower and I usually listen to music while I do that and, then I get out and I do my hair and I do my makeup and then I get dressed and, sometimes, I get a snack before I leave. Sometimes I don’t because I usually eat breakfast at school. And then I get my shoes and pack up my stuff and on out the door. Does your morning routine stress you out? Princess: Sometimes, yeah. ‘Cause that’s usually when I wake up at like 6:30 instead of 6:00 because I keep hitting the snooze. Does it make your school day any better Princess: Usually, yes, because it makes it uniform and it makes my day good. Do you have any advice for people who don’t have a routine? Princess: Get one. And stick to it because it is a lot easier to do that and makes it a lot easier to remember if you do it everyday instead of constantly switching it up. And if you have reminders and stuff like that then it’s easier to fit it in between one of the things that you do regularly. Do you have a basic school routine for certain days to help with others? Princess: It’s all the same for me, it only changes if something’s different about that day. Like if I had a game that day for volleyball or cheerleading or something like that, I would have to pack as well. I would have to dress differently, so I would probably plan my outfit the day before so I wasn’t rushing to find something nice to wear that day and end up late.
